Biography

Dorshan's musical journey began early, her voice evident before age two.  Later drawn to female music icons, she echoed Wynonna Judd’s grit, learned how to harmonize with Joni Mitchell and Allison Krauss albums, and worked to emulated powerhouses like Carrie Underwood and Whitney Houston. Today, faith guides her, with inspirations from worship leaders like Taya Smith, Brooke Fraser, and newer talent like We the Kingdom.

Her teenage years allowed for some theatrical appearances, accolades from talent contests

across Ohio and Indiana, and graced stages in Kentucky. The Cincinnati Conservatory of Music accepted her for vocal lessons, celebrated her Sweet 16 in Nashville TN performing on Broadway Street, and upon graduation accepted a vocal scholarship to Southern Virginia University. However, after a semester of classical training, she longed for more belt pop focus; packed her bags and moved back to Ohio to change her plans.

It was during that time, she met her husband and left books in the dust as they ventured to Nashville. Here, Dorshan tried to balance family, faith, and music. Little did she know, God had other plans. A new, yet, familiar experience reminded her of a higher purpose - beyond country music's allure.  She had a choice: to change her music and allow God to change her, or continue on her own terms.  She chose to change her creative music efforts, and be changed by her Creator.

This started a season of displacement and learning how to align herself to God’s will and timing.  Having a divine nature that gravitated towards a contemporary sound, she sought to understand how God would use her gifts and talents within a Church so rooted in traditional hymns.

These experiences led to the inspired vision of the FaithUnited Fine Arts Ministry. This ministry not only allowed her to serve others, develop holy envy, and (unbeknownst to her) grow in her artistry.  She accepted opportunities to headline events like the Hurricane’s Faith Night at PNC Arena, direct choirs of all ages, increased her vulnerability in writing faith-promoting songs, spoke at conferences, led worship for addiction recovery, and other various church services.  Through it all Dorshan has witnessed the profound connection between God and His children through music.

She does not consider herself a professional, but a growing disciple of Yeshua HaMashiach.  Over the years, she has seen how her gifts have brought her to the feet of her Savior, Jesus Christ; having been renewed, healed, and unified by divine connection - it is her hope to continue to share and unite in the gospel message through music in whatever capacity the Lord calls her to.

Currently she calls Texas home.  As a devoted mom to six (ages 7-22), a homeschool advocate, Army wife, and UGC Creator/Digital Content Producer by day, she's poised for the next chapter; with melodies waiting to be sung.
